In three separate lessons, we are going to cover Identifying Suspected Unapproved and Counterfeit Parts, Reporting Failures, Malfunctions, or Defects for Manufacturers (AC 21-9B), and the PAH Requirement for a Defense Mechanism for UPs Entering the Supply Chain. (14 CFR Part 21). We will explore the world of Unapproved Parts, understand the techniques to identify them, learn the process of reporting these parts to the FAA, and finally delve into strategies to avoid their use and mitigate associated risks.
